Seven expressions that Jesus used on the cross

May you have a blessed Easter time this year!
This weekend we are thinking about the price the Lord Jesus paid to give us eternal life.
We think about the 7 words he used on the cross. Three of them before the three hours of darkness, the 4th one when it was dark and the last three after the darkness. The first three expressed Jesus' love for us;

1. “Father, forgive them because they do not know what they are doing”Luke 23:34
2. “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43
3. “here is your son… Here is your mother.” John 19:26-27
4. “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?” Matt. 27:46
5. “I am thirsty” - John 19:28
6. “It is finished”- John 19:30
7. “Father into your hands I commit my spirit.” Luke 23:46

Seven is the perfect number! May our Father in Heaven's perfect plan be fulfilled in your life. May you experience this Easter time anew what Jesus Christ came to do for you and give yourself anew to Him!

The Good news of Easter

Good news Jesus was born
Good news He died on the cross
Good news He rose again
Good news He's coming back soon” Song by Sarah Moore

Easter is a time of GOOD NEWS: With Easter we celebrate the good news that Jesus was born, that Jesus died on the cross, that He rose again and that He is coming back soon.
Martin Luther said: “Live as if Jesus died yesterday, rose this morning, and is coming back tomorrow”!

My prayer is that God's children will experience the GOOD NEWS of the Gospel every day, that this Easter will be a wonderful Christ Festival to us all and that we will be GOOD NEWS to other people!
We hear so much bad news, that everyone longs for GOOD NEWS!!

Easter greeting: “The Lord has risen! He has risen indeed!!”

Charles Spurgeon said: “We Christians do not believe that Jesus Christ was the only one that ever rose from the dead. We believe that every death-bed is a resurrection; that from every grave the stone is rolled away.”

Child Evangelism Fellowship has a Good News Song:
Good news, good news Christ died for me
Good news, good news if I believe
Good news, good news I'm saved eternally
That's wonderful EXTRA good news.”

Make sure that you believe in Jesus Christ as your Saviour. How?
A. Admit that you are a sinner and that you need a Saviour. - Rom. 3:23
B. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you. Joh. 3:16
C. Commit yourself to the Lord and ask Him to forgive your sins and make you His child. - Joh. 1:12

Women in Christ need wisdom for daily living:
Proverbs 31:26 “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” It is so important to be a woman with wisdom who can instruct her children and grandchildren in the right way. How do we get wisdom?
  1. First of all wisdom comes from God through the Hoy Spirit in you: The moment we become a child of God by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, the Holy Spirit lives in us and gives us the wisdom we need. Paul's prayer in Ephesians 1:17 he prays for wisdom: “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelations, so that you may know Him better.”
  2. Reading the Bible and meditation on it, gives us wisdom: Ps. 1:1-3 “Blessed is the man who does not …...but his delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water...” When we read and meditate on the Word of God, we are linked to the water stream of God's wisdom, grace and peace and able to feed others with the Word of God.
  3. Pray for wisdom: If you need wisdom for a task or a speech or something you need to buy, pray and ask God to give you wisdom. James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”
  4. Have a vision of heaven and your way ahead: Remember the day when you came to Christ – your justification day. Remember that you are on your sanctification way in this life and that you will experience hills and valleys to overcome. Think of your future and your glorification one day in heaven! Hebrews 12:2 “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
  5. Read Christian books that can make you wise: John Bunyan – “Pilgrim's progress”; J.I. Packer - “Knowing God”; St. Augustine's “Confessions”; C.S. Lewis – “Mere Christianity”; Oswald Chambers – “My utmost for His Highest”; E.M. Bounds – “Purpose in Prayer”; Billy Graham – “Nearing Home”.
  6. Memorize Scripture: Fill your thoughts and heart with Scripture and rethink all the truths that you have in your memory. Start with easy Psalms like Psalm 1, 8, 23, 100, 121. Memorize the “Our Father” prayer, memorize the 10 Commandments.

Gospel Message with Wordless book of CEF

Women in Christ have a task to explain the Gospel message to children and grandchildren!
The Gospel message with the 5 colours of the Wordless book of Child Evangelism Fellowship
1.  The golden page speaks about God and His holiness
. God created and owns the world
. He is the King of Kings
. He is pure and holy
. He lives in Heaven
Isaiah 6:3 “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts…”
God wants you to be with Him in Heaven one day
God is our Creator, He is a God of love and He is a holy God.  He has no sin and cannot allow sin in Heaven.
Alles wat ek dink of doen of sê waarmee ek God hartseer maak, is sonde.
2.  The dark page speaks about sin and its consequences
Rom. 3:23 “For all have sinned…”
What is sin – disobeying God and His commandments
God must punish sin because He is just and fair
Sin separates us from God and makes us sad.

Jesus is gebore in 'n stal in Bethlehem.

3.  The red page speaks about Jesus Christ, and His death for sin
Rom. 5:8,9 – “Christ died for us – we are justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him”
.  God sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to be our Saviour.   Jesus was born in Bethlehem in a stable.  There the shepherds and wise men found him and worshipped Him.  He grew up in Nazareth with his mother, Mary and his earthly father Joseph.
.  Jesus died at the age of 30 on a cross in Jerusalem (Golgotha) to save us from our sins
.  Jesus took God’s punishment for all the wrong things we have done

4.  The white page speaks about salvation – especially about justification
2 Cor. 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us – that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
When we trust Jesus Christ as our Saviour, God forgives all our sins
He sees us as pure and as clean as Jesus Christ
Rom. 10:13 – Do you want to be saved?  Call on the Lord Jesus.  Confess your sins and ask God to help you to live a life according to His will.
Accept the promise in John 1:12 that when you believe, you are a child of God
Accept Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world this Christmas and tell the good news of our His birth and death to all the people you get in touch with this Christmas.

5. Groen buiteblad van woordlose boekie praat van geestelike groei: As jy God se kind is, wil Hy hê jy moet geestelik groei. 2 Pet. 3:18.

5.  The green cover speaks about spiritual growth after salvation
1 Pet. 2:2 “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby”
.  Grow by reading Bible
.  Grow by talking to God regularly
.  Grow by telling others about the Lord Jesus
.  Grow by confessing sin to God
.  Grow by meeting regularly with other Christians and by attending a good church
In your own strength you cannot live as a child of God, but trust God and accept the promise in Hebrews 13:6 “The lord is my helper…."

God's glory - Exodus 34:6-7

Moses asked God: Ex. 33:18 “Please, show me Your glory.”
God proclaimed to Moses: Ex. 34:6-7: “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children to the third and the fourth generation.”

In Ex. 34:6-7 Moses talked to God about the future of Israel and that they do not want to go ahead unless God goes with them. God agreed that He will go with them and then Moses asked the Lord to show him His glory. Ch. 33:18. Moses cut the two tablets for the 10 commandments and climbed up Mount Sinai. God descended in a cloud and stood with him and gave Moses a picture of what God is like: There were 10 names, or attributes, as God showed Himself on Sinai. six show God's mercy, two show His power and two show God's justice:

                                                                       GOD's POWER:
  1. The Lord. This is the basis. Unless we are prepared to admit the sovereignty of God, we can go no further, we shall see no more.
  2. The Lord God. There we put the two names in combination. The word God in its root means kindness. We put the infinitude of His sovereignty in combination with the boundlessness of His affection, and we say, "The Lord, the Lord God." David Star with 6 points when we think of God's names: All-mighty(Omnipotent), All-present(Omnipresent), All-knowing(Omniscient), Love, Holy, Sovereign.
                                                                      GOD's MERCY:
  1. We come next to the goings forth of that wonderful mystery of Godhead to man in mercy. The strict meaning of the word "mercy" is, a heart for misery. The first thought here is the Lord God stooping down to the wretched, going forth to the miserable.
  2. And why merciful? Because gracious. Grace is the free flowing of undeserved favour. In two things especially God shows His grace: in the pardon of sin and the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  3. "Long-suffering." We now come to a wonderful part of the character of God—patience. The end of this world is stayed because "the longsuffering of God leadeth men to repentance." This is the most marvellous part of the character of God—His patience; it contrasts so strongly with the impetuosity, the haste, the impulsiveness, of man.
  4. "Abundant in goodness and truth." Abundant is enough and something over, cup so full that it overflows. He is abundant in goodness and truth.
    (7) "Keeping mercy for thousands." There are many people who do not see their mercy, for whom God is now keeping it in reserve. He is holding it till His own appointed time, till His own season comes. The Lord God is keeping mercy for thousands – forgiving iniquity and transgressions and sin. Many times God turned His anger away from Israel. Ps. 78:35-38.
    (8) "Forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin." In Jer. 31:34 God says I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more! This brings us more and more into the work of Christ. All God's attributes met that He might pardon sin. Joh. 3:16 and  Joh. 1:12
                                                               GOD's JUSTICE:

The Lord God will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children. Though God pardons, often He does not remit the consequences of sin. God forgave Moses because he was disobedient when he hit the rock instead of talking to it, but God did not allow Moses to go to the promised land! How good, how faithful, how forgiving, all through these nineteen centuries!
    (9) "By no means clear the guilty." The word "guilty" is not in the original; it is simply "by no means clear." He will not clear any one whom He has not pardoned. God's mercy is infinite in its own bounds, but it keeps within these bounds most strictly. (10) "He visits the iniquity of the fathers on the children," etc. This is an ever-standing, visible proof and monument of God's holiness and justice. He visits sin from generation to generation. There are inherited dispensations, inherited calamities, inherited evils.Yet the sins of the fathers have been visited upon their children. Today we are suffering from the compromising, unfaithfulness, pride and wickedness, of those who went before us!
When Moses heard this, he worshipped God and said:  "If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, even though, we are a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance."
In the light of God's Holiness and justice we realize that we are sinners.
Paul writes in Ephesians 2:1-10 We were dead because of our trespasses and sins, enslaved by our 3 enemies, the world, Satan and ourselves, and condemned because of God's wrath, BUT after the Lord Jesus came to die for us, God made us alive with Christ, He raised us up with Him and made us sit with Him in heavenly places.

PROPHETS, PRIESTS AND KINGS:
How do we apply these truths in our own lives? When we confess Christ's name, and are born again believers, we have a three-fold ministry. We are prophets, priests and kings.
1. We act as prophets knowing and declaring God's Word – Acts 2:36-40. As a prophetess in your home and surroundings, you need to know the Word of God. You have to tell your children about the truths of the Word, the promises, the warnings, the doctrines. Your self-image must be strong because God is your GOD! Ask the Lord to help you with your quiet time. Pray for your believer husbands and children and friends to be prophets who know and declare God's Word.
2. Second we present ourselves to our Creator as living sacrifices in devoting ourselves to God's service and seeking transformation by His Word – we are a kingdom of priests who sacrifice ourselves in thanksgiving to Him – Rom. 12:1-2. Give yourself and your loved ones to the Lord.
3. Thirdly we strive against sin and the Devil. Taking up the armor of God against His and our enemies.
We fulfill the kingly role of protecting and enlarging the kingdom – Eph. 6:10-20.

Women in Christ are T E A C H E R S

Deut. 6:5-7:  "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength.  And these words which I command you today, shall be in your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up."

To be a TEACHER to your children, you need to know the Word of God yourself, before you start to teach the Word of God.

According to the Child Evangelism Fellowship Resource Edition of the Bible you need 8 characteristics to be a good teacher:

T - Teachable - You need teaching from the Bible by studying the Word or by listening to sermons about the Word, so that you can teach other people.  You need to be teachable!
E - Enthusiastic - You need to be enthusiastic about the Word of God.  Enthusiastic means to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that you can understand the Word of God and teach the Word of God correctly and with enthusiasm!
A - Approachable - people must not be afraid to approach you,! They must but have confidence to come to you with problems and questions.
C - Consecrated - You must give yourself fully to the Lord as a living sacrifice - Rom. 12:1
H - Honest - You must be honest before God and know your strengths and weaknesses and be honest about it.  Confess your weaknesses to the Lord and other people.
E - Enduring -  Persevere when things are difficult
R - Ready - Be prepared for your tasks as parent and teacher and sit at the feet of your Heavenly Father to get your wisdom from Him by Reading the Word and meditate on it day and night (Ps. 1)
S - Sensitive - Be sensitive to the needs of people around you and be sensitive to the work of the Holy Spirit in your life and the lives of other.

Scripture Memorising very important for a woman in Christ

Why we have to Memorize Scripture:
The moment you receive the Lord Jesus as your Saviour, you have a hunger for the Word of God. Reading the Word is not enough, Ps. 1 says you have to find your joy in the Word of God and meditate on the truths of the Word. To be able to think about the Word, you have to keep it in your heart and mind by memorizing Scripture.
1. We are called to memorise Scripture.
Colossians 3:16 tells us to “let the word of Christ dwell in us richly.”  Deuteronomy 6:4-9 tells us to bind God’s law on our foreheads, teach it to our children, talk about it wherever we go, and make it an integral part of our lives. We must know Scripture first before we can teach it or apply it as God desires.
2. Jesus Christ memorized Scripture.
He is our role model and used many verses in the Old Testament to explain the truths of the Word to His audiences.
3. Memorizing Scripture renews our mind and transforms our life.
Romans 12:2 says,Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
4. Memorizing Scripture helps against temptation.
In Jesus’ time of temptation in the wilderness, he countered Satan’s deceitful words with words of truth found in Scripture. Even though Jesus is himself the Word of God, he used the written Word of God for battling temptation.
The Psalmist understood the Word’s power in battling temptation: “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you” (Psalm 119:11).
5. Memorizing Scripture keeps your life pure.
How can a young man keep his way pure?  By guarding it according to your word. (Psalm 119:9)
6. Memorizing Scripture makes us prosper and successful.
This promise is shown in Joshua 1:8:
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Psalm 1 describes a man who delights in the law of the Lord by meditating  on it. This leads to prospering and being compared to a tree planted by streams of water that bears fruit.
7. Memorizing Scripture allows us to more readily encourage believers.
Memorizing Scripture gives believers a great opportunity to share it with other believers and encourage them to live in obedience, fight temptation, renew their minds, and conform more to the person of Christ.
Paul exhorts the Thessalonians in 1 Thessalonians 4:18 to be ready to encourage other believers with the truth. 2 Timothy 3:16 says that all Scripture is useful for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness.  Knowing Scripture is a vital part of ministering to others.
8. Memorizing Scripture allows us to share with unbelievers better.
We are urged in 1 Peter 3:15 to always be ready to give a defense for our hope in Christ. We should memorize Scripture so we can walk unbelievers through the salvation message and help them understand their sin and need for a Savior  Speaking God’s Words instead of our own will give our message more authority and will harness the power that is in the Word of God (Isaiah 55:11; Hebrews 4:12; Jeremiah 23:29).
9. Memorizing Scripture gives us better understanding of God and his will.
When we know God’s Word and obey it, we are able to experience God at a deeper level and experience the freedom that comes only through obedience (John 8:31-32; 14:21). The deeper we know God, the deeper we know his will for us. Romans 12:2 says that when we renew our minds and are transformed, we will be able to “discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
10. Memorizing Scripture makes us wise.
The Bible is a book of tremendous wisdom that can have an impact on every area of our life. By memorizing the Scripture we are able to have that wisdom with us at all times. Luke 2:52 says that even Jesus grew in wisdom during his earthly life. Why should we not do the same?

Here are 50 important Bible verses to memorize. Print the page and make yourself some cards of them and put them in an envelope or your purse. Go through them every day and try to memorize as many as you can. Encourage your Bible study group or children to memorize them and when they can say them all to you, give them a chocolate or small gift!!
